Several decades ago, I had the privilege of living in Okinawa, Japan, for three-and-a-half years. Inspired by memories of the graciousness displayed by our Okinawan neighbors, these three small works reference the three most-common Japanese greetings, as determined by the time of day:
Ohayō Gozaimasu (Good Morning)
Konichiwa (Good Day)
Konbanwa (Good Evening)
