for its roots went down to abundant water. [Ezekiel 31:7]
This design employs the stylized image of a tree to envision the life of God’s people, the Church — the span of its branches depicting the breadth of God’s embrace, the subtly nuanced colors of its foliage reflecting both the seasons of nature and the seasons of God’s activity and purpose, its grounding reminiscent of the abundance empowered in God’s people through their baptism into Christ’s body.
The design was executed using a variety of cotton, linen, silk, and synthetic fabrics.
