This design combines imagery of leaves in muted expressions of colors associated with the Christian liturgical calendar, branches formed from the words of a congregation’s mission statement, and a copper cross anchored by four gold squares to emphasize the centrality of Christ and of the gospel proclamation, both within and beyond the faith community, and the congregation’s calling to serve God in every time and season of its life together. The design was executed with cotton fabric that was dyed, over-dyed, and screen printed, then embellished with translucent overlays and improvisational machine stitching.
