This collection was inspired by the “Golden Sequence,” a beautiful, powerful prayer to the Holy Spirit that dates back to the thirteenth century and that has been spoken and sung across the centuries and in a host of languages. The words of Veni Sancte Spiritus gives voice to the longings of God’s people in every time and place for the Holy Spirit to be active within and among us, enlivening our discipleship and empowering our engagement in God’s work in the world.
